Manx Gaelic / Gaelg

(M) Fockleyr Gaelg - Baarle
An online copy of Phil Kelly's Manx-English dictionary, derived from an older English-Manx dictionary. If you have an Acrobat PDF browser (like Acrobat Reader), there is another copy available.

Scottish Gaelic / Gàidhlig

(I) GaelDict 98
Ciarán Ó Duibhín's searchable database of Gaelic works (runs under MS-DOS).
(S) MacLeod's Gaelic Dictionary
For Windows 95 (version 1.0). I don't do Windows, so I haven't tried it (anyone out there have a review of it?). Nice knotwork on this site, btw.... &smiley;
(S) MacBain's Etymological Dictionary
An HTML interface to this wonderful dictionary, of interest to learners of Irish as well as Scottish Gaelic, and anyone interested in the development of the Gaelic languages. Original text file is available from Sabhal Mór Ostaig (SMO).
(S) MacFarlane's Gaelic-English Dictionary
A searchable copy of MacFarlane's school Gaelic dictionary. Original text file is available from SMO, and a sectioned copy at Faclair Gàidhlig - Beurla.
(S) An Stòrdàta Briathrachais Gàidhlig
Search the dictionary compiled at SMO, which includes lots of modern terminology.

Irish Gaelic / Gaeilge

(I) GaelDict 98
Ciarán Ó Duibhín's searchable database of Gaelic works (runs under MS-DOS).
(I) An Foclóir Beag online!
A searchable interface to the little Irish dictionary at the U. of Limerick Computer Science department website.
(I) Gramadach
Gramadach Lexicon. Unlike the others, this is a machine readable dictionary mainly for use by computer programs. It can, however, print out the complete paradigm for any of the words it contains.
(I) An Tobar
A list of words and phrases that Bord na Gaeilge is often asked to translate.
(I) MSNBC's "Virtual" Irish dictionary
MSNBC apparently did a special on Ireland.... More flash than content, but perhaps it will generate interest. (I'm not sure what's so virtual about it.)
(I) Téarmaí Ríomhaireachta
A list of computing terms in Irish collected by Caoimhín Ó Donnaíle.
